Activities include visits to mineral-ridden cliffs where parrots and parakeets, by the thousands, can be seen, or night excursions in a canoe to view nocturnal animals such as caiman, monkeys, insects and owls, or climb an observation tower where you can observe many birds flying by at eye-level, wildlife of all kinds, and a bird's-eye view of the jungle, or paddle in a canoe along a lake covered by water hyacinths to try some lemon-ants after visiting a native village. Well, the possibilities are endless, as the expanse of the Amazon Jungle. |

In addition, LA SELVA hosts the first Butterfly Farm in South America. Here visitors can enter the farm and have a first-hand experience with an ecollogically sound, sustainable alternative to help preserve the rainforest at the time that they enjoy butterflies flying around them, standing on them and most importantly, you know that they are being breed, not catch. |
